I was billed $170 for diagnosing a check engine light, and another $170 in labor to replace the purge valve solenoid in the engine. Normally, you would think the original diagnostic would get discounted, if not waived, upon deciding to fix the issue. They are not the most affordable by any means. And on top of that, I was told drive the car for 100 miles to be really sure the check engine light stays off. I’m admittedly not a car expert, but $340 in labor for 5 hours of work more than I expected to be billed. I should have gone across the street to get a quote from the other guys.
