I got my car checked here because of smoking under my hood and wanted a safety inspection. Got a call telling me things that were wrong in my car and what is broken and telling me it would be a couple thousands to fix if I wanted to keep it. I thought about just not using it anymore because it has cost a lot to keep it running and its an old car but I had to discuss with my dad and I wanted to get like an invoice of all the things that was wrong with the car. I still have not received any type of communication of what was wrong and/or broken in my car. So, I took it somewhere else because I wanted to save my car and they showed me around the car and had it written up what is going to be fixed and replaced for a little over 1,000. Way less than what this place was telling me. I thought this was going to be a good visit because I have came here once before, but nope.
Hi Jewel – When you came to us you wanted a safety inspection and for us to check the smoking from under the hood. The vehicle failed safety inspection for a lot of big items such as the headlight aim, a bent front core support (which would need to be addressed at a body shop), the rear caliper was leaking brake fluid and the front brakes were in very poor shape etc.. The vehicle was also leaking a lot of oil and we suspected that it was leaking onto the exhaust manifolds and burning off (which would cause the smoking). During our follow up phone call after our inspection, we mentioned that it would be a good amount of money to make this vehicle fully safe to drive again, and at that point you told us you were going to get rid of the car – A decision which we supported knowing how much it would take to make this vehicle safe again. We’re sorry your expectations were not met during your 2nd visit. If you’d like to talk about this further, please give our shop a call at (703)272-3216.
